vividness

this was the first roll of portra 400 i shot, on an ordinary afternoon.

i chose it for the color: they call it the least grainy available. what i didn’t expect was how it would hold the blue of a restaurant wall, the red of a gumball machine, the saris behind glass.

color, it turns out, is its own way of paying attention.
